Paying in El Calafate: transfers and entry fees

What you pay Daniel and how, plus what you pay on your own at each stop: Los Glaciares National Park, boat trips, El Chaltén and Torres del Paine.

💵 Cash price in pesos 💳 Card with surcharge 💲 US dollars 📲 Pix (Mercado Pago) 🎟️ Entry fees separate
Quick answer

You pay Daniel for your private transfer in one of four ways: cash in Argentine pesos (the cash price), credit card with a 16.5% surcharge, US dollars at the day's exchange rate, or Pix via Mercado Pago (for travelers from Brazil), same price as card. Prices are per vehicle for up to 4 passengers. Park entry, boat trips and the El Chaltén fee are paid separately, never to Daniel.

How do you pay for a private transfer with Daniel?

There are four ways to pay, and all of them start from the same base: the cash price.

Prices are fixed and per vehicle, for up to 4 passengers, and agreed before you get in the car. Groups of more than 4 passengers: contact us. We have a Hyundai H1 (up to 11 passengers) and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (15 to 19 passengers, depending on the unit); for larger groups we combine vehicles.

You settle how you'll pay on WhatsApp before the trip, so on the day there's nothing left to sort out. Daniel speaks Spanish and basic Portuguese, Italian and English. On WhatsApp we write to you in your language.

What does a transfer cost with each payment option?

Three examples at the current rate, per vehicle for up to 4 passengers:

TransferCash price (pesos)Card (+16.5%)US dollars (approx.)
Airport ↔ hotel (each way)ARS 50,000ARS 58,250USD 34
Perito Moreno Glacier, round trip with waiting timeARS 190,000ARS 221,350USD 131
El Chaltén Full Day (there and back the same day, driver waits)ARS 320,000ARS 372,800USD 221

The dollar column is a guide: the actual amount uses the day's exchange rate. Combos, such as the airport plus the Glacier on the same day, are listed at their final price and can be paid in any of the same four ways.

What each service includes: airport transfer and Perito Moreno Glacier transfer.

How do you pay for the transfer to Torres del Paine?

Torres del Paine works differently. It is a full transfer that crosses the border, and it is quoted in US dollars: from USD 1150 per vehicle (up to 4 passengers). The final price is confirmed based on the number of passengers and your hotel.

To hold your date you leave a 50% deposit; Daniel confirms on WhatsApp how the rest is paid. Service details: El Calafate to Torres del Paine transfer.

What do I get when I book and pay?

You get a receipt with your booking details, so you have everything you agreed on at hand on the day of the trip.

How much is Los Glaciares park entry, and how do you pay it?

Park entry is an official National Parks fee. It isn't part of the transfer and you don't pay it to Daniel: each visitor pays it separately when entering.

Where do you pay for the boat trips at the glacier?

Safari Náutico and Safari Azul are run by Hielo y Aventura and paid per person at the Bajo de las Sombras pier. Daniel never charges for the boat trip: your transfer is still the Glacier round trip.

Is there anything to pay when you arrive in El Chaltén?

You may have to pay the Urban Use Tax (Tasa de Uso Urbano), a town charge for visitors who don't spend the night there. It is set at the equivalent of 2 litres of YPF premium petrol per person, so the peso amount follows fuel prices. You pay it through the channels the Municipality offers: its website or the QR code at the town entrance. Some people are exempt, such as Santa Cruz residents and children under 14.

If you go and come back the same day, Daniel lets you know before the trip whether it applies to you. Exemptions and the park charges in the Northern Zone: El Chaltén entrance fee 2026.

Can I pay for my transfer in US dollars?

Yes, at the day's exchange rate. The Torres del Paine transfer is quoted directly in US dollars.
